This wonderfully elegant carved Victorian Hematite intaglio ring is set in 18k yellow gold. The intaglio itself dates from the late 1800's. The mounting dates from the 1970s. The square shaped deep chocolate colored hematite is beautifully carved with the portrait of a warrior. It is intricately carved with so much detail - truly breathtaking. It is framed in a textured gold mounting surrounded by diamonds. There are approx.1/2 ct of a mix of Old European cut and modern round cut diamonds. The diamonds are all H/I in color and VS2/SI1 in clarity. Simple sophistication infused with quiet powerfulness. The ring measures 1/2" x 1/2". It weighs 23.15 grams. It will fit a size 10 finger.
